  • Hubble finder fjerne galakser løbet tør for gas

    Ved hjælp af Rumteleskopet Hubble, ALMA -radioteleskopet og en såkaldt “tyngdelinse” har astronomer fra DAWN fundet seks galakser i det tidlige Univers, der “døde” ved at løbe tør for gas til at danne nye stjerner. Præcis hvordan de løb tør, er lidt af et mysterium.

    Using the HST, the ALMA radio telescope, and gravitational lensing, astronomers from DAWN have found six galaxies in the early Universe that died by running out of gas. Exactly how they ran out is a bit of a mystery.
