I am a Professor at the National Space Institute of Denmark, where I am heading the Cosmic Dawn Center.  I obtained my PhD in 2005 from the Institute for Astronomy Edinburgh.  Since 2012 I have been an Associate Professor at University College London. Prior to that I have held research positions at the California Institute of Technology and the Max-Planck Institute for Astronomy.

My research deals with the origin and evolution of massive galaxies and the clusters they live in. I study them using radio and optical telescopes on the ground and in space. Interfacing with numerical simulations is an important part of this work. I enjoy teaching, supervising students, as well as public outreach.
